About Me

My name is Alex Kepler, I’m the developer working on Recursive Riftall. One might refer to me as a solo dev, but that’s a gross misrepresentation. It would be utterly impossible for me to create this game without the help and support the indie game development community offers. Tutorials, source code, free volunteer support, free or cheap powerful assets that save weeks or months of work – without these foundations, this game would never have left the imagination stage.

 

As for myself, my background is in engineering and IT but I’ve always enjoyed working with logic systems and producing content for people to experience, having my roots in the LittleBigPlanet series. After writing too many procedural D&D systems in excel and trying to create a simple tabletop RPG, I realized what I really wanted was to make a visual game and I wanted as many people to experience it as possible. With next to no experience in real game development, I got started learning Unity and C# which was the easiest gateway into the space that I saw for myself and what I believed was reasonable for me to accomplish.
