What is this game?

Recursive Riftfall is a game about exploring exotic dungeons for loot to power your ship and yourself. Each dungeon has it’s own themes which will determine the equipment you take and how to you tackle it’s challenges.

Will this game actually release?

INDIE DEV TAKES TOO BIG OF BITE - PROMPTLY CHOKES ON FEATURE CREEP.

The game is currently under active development, and as such many listed features have yet to be fully implemented. Well aware of this fateful tale as old as humanity, I have an internal roadmap that will hopefully lead to a polished but limitedly playable game upon which I can add a wider variety of features and gameplay gimmicks. This game is not open world, not an MMO, there is no story, just a bunch of procedural dungeons with some set parameters. As such, it’s my belief that I can keep scope creep in check, but only time will tell.

Feature List

I would not consider the game finished without these features.

Multiplayer – Play with as many people as the host’s network can handle. Dungeon size, difficulty, and resources dynamically adjust to suit the current number of players.

Proximity Voice Chat – The classic feature is here and well-integrated. Traps, sprawling dungeons, radios, and co-op puzzles all cater to endless memorable experiences.

Singleplayer – Like the challenge or the solitude? Play alone in a mode adjusted to suit solo play.

Equipment – Use the right tool for the job! Scanners, radios, jump boots, cloaking devices, and many more provide ample ways to tackle endless challenges.

Procedural Dungeons – Dungeons are diverse and exotic, each with their own gameplay themes. You’ll encounter them in waves – work together to figure out a dungeon group’s main dangers to be as well-prepared as possible.

Obstacles – The dungeon could have a confusing labyrinthian layout, or lots of verticality. It could have hidden pushers ready to plunge you into the abyss, or flamethrowers ready to burn you to a crisp. It could have doors that require teamwork to open. It could be extra dark, or the floor could be made of ice. And on top of all those possible dangers, there are the Obeloids.
